Peel and remove every particle of white from two oranges.  Cut in thin slices, sprinkle with sugar, and let stand until sugar is absorbed, then drain. Dry and dip in batter covering each slice completely. Sprinkle with sugar and serve at once.

Batter: One cup of flour, one and half tsp. baking powder, fourth tsp. salt, third cup of milk, one egg. Mix and sift dry ingredients; add milk gradually and egg well beaten.
