From the seller: "Collectible-Very
Good. 11" x 4.25" An original gray silk ribbon for the opening of the Wells
Theatre on August 26, 1913 under the direction of Jake Wells and the management
of Otto Wells. Printed on the ribbon is a picture of the Wells with a caption
reading, "Norfolk's Modern Fire-Proof Theatre". At the bottom of the ribbon the
"Inaugural Attraction" is announced: "Samuel E. Rork presents The Merry Romance
'The Merry Countess'. " Minor fading and very minor fraying at the fringed
bottom of the ribbon. A very attractive example of a rare piece of Norfolk
theatre history."
