Cumberland

Original 1884 Hand-Colored Map: City of Portland and Vicinity, Cumberland Co., Maine
From the seller: "This beautiful, original hand-colored map came from "Atlas of the State of Maine" produced by George N. Colby & Co. in 1884. This atlas and the maps therein were produced in limited numbers for a short time, making city and county maps of Maine difficult to locate. This map features the City of Portland in the County of Cumberland. Detailed steel plate engraving shows all roads (which are named), railroads, buildings and the business within, wards and or districts, schools, churches, hospitals, jails, cemeteries, parks, wharfs, ship yards, mills, court house, halls and major manufacturing plants. A fantastic map if you live in the area or know someone who does. MAKER: George N. Colby & Company; CONDITION: Very Good; SIZE: 24" x 16"; Year:1884."
