One day recently a Nebraska cattleman on his way to
Texas rode the train all day through Kansas, where the state for
sanitary reasons does not permit the railroads to furnish a drinking cup
at the water cooler. When the train got well down south in
Oklahoma, the porter stuck his head into the car door and shouted, "Nowata!"
The Nebraskan, in an injured tone of voice exclaimed, "Now, that beats
the devil; no cups in Kansas and no water in Oklahoma!"
