Note: These are old obituaries scanned from 18th through early 20th century U. S. newspapers. Reports of deaths that
were included as parts of news stories were originally included on the News
pages, though I have begun to list those on both News & Death pages now.
Be sure and browse through the News
pages, and you may find a surprise!
If you're looking for obituaries more recent than the earliest 1900's, I suggest that you search Ancestry's
Obituary Collection,
or check out our links to other obituary sites.

January 25, 2001: I have also begun cross-posting
here for deaths that are listed among the TN & VA pages, though I cannot
go back and cross-post here all those that have already been posted on those
pages. As always, all the names will be in the index anyway. genealogy
If you are looking for a specific name,
your best bet is always the Index
of Names.
Note:
I am now adding a few photos snapped on various cemetery visits; these
will be listed among the other deaths, as well as on the new page, In
Memoriam.
Note: See the "Other" listing (below). This will include
the long lists of deaths that sometimes appeared in larger cities, which I
have not had time to add individually. I decided to get some of these added
as soon as possible, rather than waiting until I had time to cut them apart
(virtually, that is).
