North Carolina Postcards:
Anson County Courthouse
Wadesboro, North Carolina
1942
| This postcard picturing the Anson County
Courthouse was mailed to Miss Barbara PAYNE in Portland, Connecticut by
Charles F. PAYNE, who was apparently serving in the Army. His return
address was in Dilworth (in Mecklenburg County, NC).
Typical of most postcards, the message is
short and sweet, noting that "This is the town near where we are
staying."
Postmarked at Charlotte, North Carolina on
August 22, 1942, this card bears no stamp. Instead, the word
"free" is written next to the stamp box area. |
