| William Meredith MAY was born in Buckingham County, Virginia, in 1785, the son of Peter MAY and Nancy MEREDITH. He served on the War of 1812 with William BOLLING's Goochland Volunteers, 38th Virginia Cavalry, under Captain Samuel CARR. He married Mary S. FOWLER on May 17, 1813 in Goochland County, Virginia. She died around 1828. He then married Catherine Mask JARRETT (also in Goochland County, Virginia) on August 11, 1824. He died in Tennessee on August 14, 1845, and is buried in Fayette County. His will may be found here. |
