Washington's Tomb
Mount Vernon, Virginia

This is a hand-tinted white border Colorchrome postcard published by the Washington New Co. It was never used. The back reads,

The tomb is a plain brick structure, the severity of whose lines [is] softened by festoons of vines. The marble sarcophagus of Washington is seen within on the right, that of Martha, his wife, is by his side. The tablet above reads, "Within this enclosure rest the remains of General George Washington."
