Once again, I have to stop fiddling with this thing and get
it online! I know I'm forgetting something. Several somethings,
I'm sure.
We had a great trip to Baltimore and back, though for some
reason it seemed a lot longer coming home than it did going.
The kids and I
fall in love with America all over again every time we make one of our long
cross-country car trips. People are so nice, everywhere we go, and the country
is simply so beautiful! Different kinds of beauty in different places, but
beautiful just the same.
I made a correction a Michigan
page, so heads up, you Michigan researchers! Thanks to reader Don Bryant,
whose "Connection" to one of the names in the story alerted him to
my error. Click here
for an explanation of the error and how we figured it out.

For whatever that's worth. Hey - at least it's free!

Connections
Folks are making connections! I can't tell you how thrilled I am when someone finds a
familiar name here on TheOldenTimes.com! I've begun adding a few of the
interesting emails that I receive about this site and the old stories. I
haven't had time to catch up with them all, but I'll keep working on it. There isn't a link yet from the main part of the
site, but you can browse that section as you like.
I'm still behind, as always, in getting everything online,
but I'll keep working at it, so if you don't see something that you've sent to
me, please be patient with me and keep watching...
Favorites
I have some favorite old newspaper stories and ads, and I began
keeping a list of them, which I've decided to post to the website. As I've
noted at the beginning of this
list list of favorites, there are a number of reasons for which I might choose and article
or an ad to list, ranging from "it's a great clue," and "what a
weird tale," to the fact that it struck me as just plain funny!
Do you have a particular favorite news story or ad on
TheOldenTimes.com?
Is it because you found a family name? Or because you
think it's the oddest thing your ancestors' peers ever did? Or because it
sounds just like something your goofy Uncle Ed did once? Did it tickle your
funnybone or tug at your heartstrings? If you'd like for me to add it to the
list, please email me at favorites@theoldentimes.com
with the url of your personal favorite and a brief explanation of why you like
it.
The Bookstore
has a lots of new books, new gifts, journals, and photo albums, and a couple
of new sections: Maritime
History and Genealogy
Charts & Forms.
Thank you all for your continued support!
Your purchases
from the sponsors help me to defray my costs, which is deeply appreciated.
Your kind emails keep me going! Thank you so much!
Please stay safe, and remember those glorious words, e
pluribus unum.
Out of many, one.
As always, thanks for your patience, and thanks for
visiting.

My Families
I've added a "Stray MAYs" section to my main MAY
Family page, and this is where I'll add any records that I've received that
don't turn out to be related to my own MAY family, along with links to other MAY
folks found in the news.
