The editor of an exchange, in speaking of a millinery store kept by a lady, said he was "gratified to see her stocking up." When the paper came out he was surprised on meeting  the lady to have her strike him over the head with her umbrella and tell him that he was a liar and she would tell his wife. He didn't know what she was mad about, and had to read the item over one hundred times before he caught on.
