Vintage & Collectible Postcards:
St. John's Hospital

Leavenworth,  Kansas

1912

This Divided Back Era postcard has a surprisingly glossy finish in spite of its great age: it's postmarked January 12, 1912, from Lowemont, Leavenworth County, Kansas. "Mary M." mailed the card to Miss Mary C. REECE of Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri. She wrote,

Dearest Mary, You surely must not get my mail for I have written and written and then you still write and want to know what has become of me? Many thanks for that dear little apron. I suppose you received lots of pretty things and I did also. Will tell you about them later. Write soon to Mary M.

There is no information about the publisher on the car, although there is a number, 6683, printed on the front of the car next to the hospital name.

Interestingly, the postmark seems to be missing the "L" in "Lowemont!" I had to try quite a few variations on a town name "-owemont" in the RootsWeb Town/County finder to come up with this one!
