Vintage & Collectible New Mexico Postcards:

The Open Pit Copper Mine

Santa Rita, New Mexico

1949

This card shows the open pit copper mine at Santa Rita, New Mexico. Sallie and Ethel sent this linen postcard to Mr. C. C. KERR of Athens, Ohio. They wrote that they'd had a nice drive the day before and that they'd had a heavy rain, which filled the driveway with water.

It's postmarked from Las Cruces, New Mexico, and the writer dated the card January 26, 1949 and bears a one cent stamp.
