This view of Center Street in South
Haven, Michigan, comes from the Undivided Back Era (1901-1907). At the time, according to Mashburn's
The Postcard Price Guide, A Comprehensive Reference,
only the address was to appear on the back of the card, which meant that the
message had to be squeezed in on the front of the card. On the very bottom of
this card, the sender was able to write only,
"Yours with love, Jim, Frank, Marge"
The recipient was Walker FERNEAU of
Malcom, Iowa (Poweshiek
County).
The publisher was S. Langsdorf &
Co., New York - Germany.
