| Initials are to be the only signature on this
vintage postcard featuring the Old Fort Inn at Kennebunkport, Maine. The
recipient was Mrs. George CONARD of Philadelphia, the second person at
the same address to receive a postcard from Maine, though the two cards
were mailed four years apart.
You'll have to be the judge as to
whether the name is actually spelled CONARD or COUARD, by inspecting the
reverse side of this card and also the postcard
from Congress Square in Portland, Maine. And while the handwriting
appears to be similar, the signatures don't seem to be the same.
And would you believe it? The Old Fort Inn
is still there, and it's still an inn! Visit
their website to see some more up-to-date pictures. Be sure and tell
'em we said "Hi!"
