Wild West Shootout in Erath County
This appears to have involved the infamous outlaw, "Doc" Holliday, but may have been a case of mistaken identity, or hysterical news media (Gee, we've never seen that before...).

Note: I'm familiar with "Stephenville, Texas," but not a "Stevenville." I couldn't find any "Stevenville" in the RootsWeb County-Town database, nor in the U. S. Geologic Survey's database of place names, so I'm going to assume that this shooting happened in Stephenville, in Erath County, Texas. If you have any information about this incident, please email me.
Texas Escapes has some interesting information about Stephenville, and you ought to drop by their site and say "Hey, Ya'll!" They're mighty nice over there!
