John HUNTER of Bedford County, Virginia consented for his daughter Elizabeth to marry John MAY of Buckingham County, Virginia. John MAY was the son of Charles MAY of Buckingham County. The document below was obtained from the National Archives as part of John MAY's Revolutionary War military records.
An interesting feature of this is John HUNTER Sr.'s post script stating that his son John HUNTER Jr. is not of age, he "is the owner of 100 acres and some horses and has been dealing for himself some time."
