Marcellus A. May Biographical Notes
Marcellus A. May was the son of William Meredith May (1783 - 1845) and his first wife, Mary S. Fowler (1793 - 1823). He was born in Goochland County, Virginia, in 1820.
Marcellus is named in his father William Meredith May's will, which is dated August 9, 1845.
He married Susan W. Clark in Fayette County, Tennessee on January 20, 1847. Marcellus and Susan appear in the 1850 Fayette County, Tennessee census with their two daughters, Mary A. and Elizabeth O. May., who were born in 1848 and 1849.
This census is the last place I've been able to locate Marcellus May, although I have notes that place him in Bolivar County, Mississippi, in 1860, living alone.
