These records were
obtained from the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, D.
C. These two pages are the only records that I received; presumably they are all
that exist.
John Millard VINCENT served with 2 different
regiments: the 37th Texas Cavalry (Terrell's Texas Rangers) and the 2nd Texas
Battery (McMahon's Battery). While I have been unable to find much information
about McMahon's Battery beyond the fact that they served in the Red River
Campaign, there is an excellent
website for the 37th Texas Cavalry, which is represented by a wonderful
group of Civil War reenactors. Page
