1907 Jamestown Exposition
U. S. Government Pier
"Official
Souvenir"
| This beautiful watercolor rendition of the U.
S. Government Pier was an "official souvenir" of the
1907 Jamestown Exposition. Signed simply, "George," it was
mailed to Miss Grace REYNOLDS of Rockport, Spencer Co., Indiana. The
postmark indicates that it was mailed from Norfolk, Virginia on July 7,
1907.
George's message to Grace was,
We are certainly having an easy time
of it. I am going over to see the ocean tomorrow.
George
