This is a "white border"
antique postcard, a hand-colored view of the Great Falls at Yellowstone National
Park.
It was sent by C. H. PETERSON to Mr.
& Mrs. Frank JOHNSON of Topeka, Kansas. The postmark is from Yellowstone
Park, Wyoming, and it is dated August 25, 1925. It bears a 2-cent stamp. The
message is simply, "Greetings from Yellowstone Park and the
PETERSONs."
The text on the back of the card
informs us that the Great Falls of the Yellowstone, Yellowstone Park,
was photographed from the bottom
of the Grand Canyon [illegible] at the foot of Uncle Tom's Trail. The
terrible power of this 308 ft. cataract is appreciated here where the roar,
which echoes and re-echoes down the canyon is almost deafening.
The postcard was published by J. E.
HAYNES of St. Paul, Minnesota, "Official Photographers of Yellowstone
National Park."
