The CABELLs and Their Kin: a Memorial Volume of History, Biography, and Genealogy icon

Twentieth Century CABELLs and Their Kin icon
"This 684-page book is the long-awaited -- and equally long-discussed (at least in the CABELL family) -- follow-on to Alexander Brown's "The CABELLs and Their Kin." The book includes biographies of Bishop William Cabell Brown, the author James Branch Cabell, General William Lewis Cabell C.S.A, ("Old Tige" and four-time mayor of Dallas), General Charles P. Cabell, USAF, and over 500 other CABELLs and their kin from every walk of life. The biographies are heavily indexed on military service, education, church affiliation, hobbies, etc. In addition to the biographies, over 9500 CABELLs, their spouses and descendants are organized in computer-prepared descendancy charts, plus indexes to their own marriages and their parents marriages. The book is beautifully bound in red, with a Cabell seal gold embossed on the cover. The book is also cross indexed with Alexander Brown's "The CABELLs and Their Kin", so that the researcher can trace some Cabell lines across four centuries."

CABELL Sightings: 1699-1751
From the Author, "This is the most significant news of the first Virginia CABELLs in over a century! In the same genre as "Elvis Sightings", I have put together everything I can find about William CABELL and his wife Elizabeth BURKS in the first half of the 18th Century. We find William in over 100 sightings, plus another 300 appearances in court! Over 450 other people are indexed including MAYOs and CARRINGTONs and HOOPER and BURKs. Most of these "clippings" are not widely known, so the little book brings a wealth of new information on the early CABELLs. I discovered a long- running feud between William CABELL and his cousins William Mayo and George Carrington. Also of interest was that William consistently spelled his name "CABBELL" until he returned from England in 1742, and it is consistently "CABELL" thereafter. Along the way, I also learned that in the British Empire prior to 1751, New Years Day was March 25 rather than January 1. The book also features a map along the James River where most of the sightings occurred. Also has computer-enhanced images of original letters between William and Elizabeth.

The CABELLs and the Decade of Decision: Williamsburg, 1771-1781
"A little monograph documenting the CABBELL men in Williamsburg during that turbulent decade. This is an excellent way to introduce children to ancestors and happenings in one corner of Revolutionary America. Over half of the book is made up of songs from the Colonial period which were performed at one or more of the CABBELL meetings in Williamsburg: 1976, 1986 and 1994. Songs include words and three or four-part harmony. Marches have three parts, but no words."

Songs of the CABELLs: Early-American Songs Performed at CABELL Meetings, 1976-1994
"This audio cassette features about 25 minutes of songs and marches which were performed at one or more of the meetings of the CABELL Foundation in Williamsburg - 1976, 1986 and 1994, or at New Market in 1989. Seven of the tunes are found in the publication "CABELLs and The Decade of Decision: Williamsburg 1771-1781." The music is performed by the author on an electronic keyboard, featuring flute, strings, serpent horn and several spirited drum sequences. The same sequence is recorded on both sides. All except the last two selections are taken from Early America."
