This "Connection" is one that doesn't involve a personal connection, but the linking of an additional resource to an old advertisement. When I posted this old St. Paul's Female School advertisement on Rootsweb, Joi Dickerson posted a reply in which she listed many students' names that she found in an old book, An Adventure in Faith, by James S. Russell (pub. 1936 by Morehouse).
Joi has listed quite a few names of African American men who served in WWI from the St. Paul School, so do stop by if you're seeking information on your Virginia WWI patriot!
