This is an unused postcard featuring a view of Capitol Square in Richmond, Virginia. While there is no postmark, it can be dated to the Divided Back era. This period of postcard publishing, according to
Mashburn's The Postcard Price Guide, A Comprehensive Reference,
ran from 1907-1915.
For some odd reason, the word "Auto" is stamped in red on the front of the card and again in bluish-purple on the back. Otherwise, it's in surprisingly good shape for its age! Further information on the back indicates that it was made in Germany.
