| This pretty little card was published by
Raphael Tuck & Sons. The reverse side includes the following information
from the publisher:
Raphael Tuck & Sons' Post
Card Series No. 2223, "Landmarks of Virginia."
Art Publishers to Their Majesties the King & Queen
This card was never used, so I
don't have a postmark by which to estimate its age. Raphael Tuck & Sons
began publishing Christmas cards around 1871 and continued into the 20th
century. My guess is that this card dates to the early 1900s.
Tuck & Sons had a
distinctive easel &
palette logo, which is found in the stamp box on this postcard. |
