The Cactus Hotel, now restored, has long been a striking feature of the West Texas landscape as you drive to San Angelo.  In 1951 it was the setting for a Texas Watchmaker's convention, and you can see a photo of Cactus Hotel manager Roy Beverly on our pages.

Angelo State University's two tall dormitory towers now share the San Angelo skyline, but for many years, the old Cactus Hotel was the tallest building for miles around.
