* This may be the same Michael BLOOMER who appears in Ancestry.com's New Orleans, Louisiana Death Records Index, 1804-1949. I would expect the fellow in question to be fairly young and rowdy, and the Michael BLOOMER who appears in the Death Index was 23 years of age at the time of his death, which is dated September 3, 1847.
